Teen Larceny Suspect Airlifted After Being Hit By Car Fleeing From Officers In Virginia: Police

A larceny suspect was airlifted to a local hospital after being hit by a car while fleeing police in Manassas, authorities said.

Officers were responding to a report of a theft from a local business when they spotted a man matching the suspect's description on the 8400 block of Rixlew Road around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

Cops tried to speak with the suspect, a 19-year-old man, but he fled on foot, they said.

The man then ran into traffic along Sudley Road and was hit by a westbound 2012 Infinity QX56, police said.

He was flown to an area hospital where he is expected to survive.

The driver remained at the scene, authorities said.

The investigation remains ongoing.
